You may wish to nest tables in order to create an extra hierarchical level. Walr's Analysis & Reporting supports nested tables in both columns and rows.

Create a Nested Table

Select the first level questions into the row or columns drop areas normally.

1. Select the question(s) in the column group you want to be a first level question.

2. Select Hierarchy. then Add hierarchy.
.
3. Select the question(s) you want as a second level and click Add.
.
The table will now have two levels in the column. It will show what questions are used for the hierarchical level.

Nested Tables for Rows
It is possible to create nested tables using rows instead of columns.

Begin by selecting the question in the row group you want as a first level question and following the instructions described for nested columns above.
The table will look something like the below where we've added an age hierarchy to the row variable:
Edit Hierarchical Questions
Editing hierarchical question works much the same way as editing any other question in a topline or cross table but you must start in a different place.

1. Select the hierarchy question to edit then select Edit hierarchy.

2. Edit the question(s) in the second level as you normally would. The detailed process to edit questions can be found in Edit Toplines and Tables

Finally, you can delete all hierarchies by selecting "Clear hierarchy" from the Hierarchy menu.
