A listing of important terms used in the Walr Platform.
Audience
The specific group of respondents required for a certain survey.
Component
Any platform-related file type. An output file generated by the Walr Platform.
Examples: survey component, audience component, dataset, sessions.
Customer/Account
The client or company who has purchased licences or subscriptions to access the Walr Platform.
Datafile
A file containing data. File types are typically Excel, SPSS, CSV, Triple-S, MiProx
Dataset
A collective term describing actual data, data map (labels), and structure.
File
Any static file type sitting on the platform. Eg, image files, ppt files, word docs, mailing lists.
Feasibility
The process of querying Audience to determine the estimated number of respondents who will complete a survey.
Full-Service Study
A type of project in market research defined by the use of multiple components from multiple products.
The key differentiator from a sample/analysis/data only project is that it will include three components, survey builder, data collection (Panel/Audience) and data delivery at a minimum.
Project
The folder/s within the Walr Platform that contains one or more product components: Surveys, Datasets, Data Operations and files.
Respondent Session
When a survey respondent clicks a survey link in our platform that creates an entry in the database (in audience access, survey, etc.)
Session (in Analysis)
When working within Analysis all work is recorded so that the latest status of your work is available when you return.
Users can create multiple sessions for a single dataset so you can go back to an earlier status if desired.
Survey
A collective term used to describe the components that create a finished survey URL. This includes the script, questionnaire, associated media, routing information, etc.
Survey URL
Also known as a survey link, the survey URL is the respondent access point to a survey. A survey can have multiple access points (URLs)
Sample Only Study
A type of project in market research defined by the need for a supplier/agency to facilitate just the sampling (fieldwork / data collection) component.
For Walr this would be a project that requires only the Audience component.
A user can add static files to this project but that is not a requirement.
User
Any individual who uses/enters into the platform. Users are always linked to a customer (like a sub user).
Users access the platform using a unique email address.
Walr Audience Access
The Walr Platform solution for accessing audiences and samples from any source, such as a customers own Panel Manager sample, Audience Access sample or other External integrated samples.
