Export into an Excel CSV file

We are in the process of building a single click excel output which will pull data map and labels or values. This should be available in July 2024.

In the meantime, there are several ways to export data from the platform into a different format. This article will cover how to set-up a custom .csv file, but you can also export in .sss or .sav. To do one of these options, please see this article: https://support.walr.com/support/solutions/articles/101000512091-export-data-from-the-platform-into-spss-or-triple-s

Creating a csv from the platform:

Step 1: In the A&R file, select the Data tool from the left-hand menu:

Step 2: Drag across all of the variables by clicking the first one, holding down the shift key and selecting the last variable. Then drag these across to where it says “drop rows here”. In this step, you also have the option of including only the variables you want to include in your export by selecting them individually:

Step 3: Click on the Options menu at the top of the screen and decide if you want the .csv to display labels or codes. The default is to display labels rather than answer choice codes:

Step 4: Finally, click on export (top right), choose Excel, and decide on the final options for your export. You can also decide if you want the .csv to be saved to the Walr project folder or if you want to directly download it without saving it. Then click on Export and A&R will create a .csv file with your chosen variables and settings.
