Create and Export PPT Chart(s)/Presentation

Charts are a mainstay of data visualization, creating them on the Walr Platform is drag and drop easy.

.

Let's create a chart that will display the breakdown of male and female respondents by region.

Open the Project

.

Open the data set you want to analyze and select the Chart tab.

.

Select and Arrange Questions

.

Drop questions in one of the two drop areas.

The results are displayed immediately.

Chart Options

There are a great many options and settings available to customize charts to fit your presentation needs.

.

With your question selected click Options.

.

The Options menu opens to display the many areas of customization available.

.

Selecting the category on the left will open those options for you to select on the right side. We will discuss the available options in detail in other articles.

Reports and Exports

.

When you have finished setting up your Topline, you can add it to a report with the Walr Platform.

.

Select the questions that you have set up in Topline to include tin your report by checking the box on the question, then click Add to Report.

You can also export your Topline date to several formats such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

.

To export to PowerPoint, click on Export and select "Export to PowerPoint".

This will open up an export window where you can:

  1. Select a pre-loaded template. Walr can load as many templates for you as you require.
  2. Title your presentation
  3. Choose to display a title page if you wish
  4. "Specify three shape numbers..." will allow you to set up to three "shapes" or chart objects for your title page.
    • If you are exporting into a template, you may specify:
      1. Which slide in the template to use as the title page (e.g. the first slide)
      2. The shape number for the Title (e.g. the first text box)
      3. The third shape will have the number of cases/population (e.g. the second text box).
        • NB: for the above to work your template must have a title slide in the template and your template must also contain text boxes for the title and base size information to go into. If for example you only have a title page that has a box for the title, the sample size information will not display automatically when you export your charts.
  5. Finally you can save your export to the Walr project folder where colleagues/clients/you can access it without having to open A&R again.

An example of an export using all possible imputs:

In the above:

  1. The first   is the slide number for the title page.  1  is also the number for the title slide template in the master slide.
  2. The second  1  is the first text box on the title slide where "PPT Demo 17 April 23" appears below.
  3. The  2  is the second text box where the sample size numbers appear.
