How to Share a Project

You can easily share project(s) with your colleagues and clients, whether they have existing accounts on the Walr Platform, or not. 

You may customise what you want to share, whether it is ALL or parts of a project. You can also customise the access permissions, whether it is read-only, or enable collaboration with those you have shared to.

 

Note: Sharing relies on an understanding of the difference between a sub account and a regular account. 

A sub account is an account for a user that is invited to participate in a project owned by a regular account user. Sub accounts are set up by a client admin. 
NB: A sub account must exist before it can be used to share a project.
A regular account is for a client user of the Walr Platform.

Set Up Sharing 

 

1. In your project folder, click on the Sharing button. Select Setup sharing.


In the Setup sharing dialog there are three decisions to make about sharing. 

2. In the Analysis types tab select what analysis areas will be shared using the toggles. Select one or more as appropriate for the person or group you are going to share with.

  • Do not click the Share button until you are done making your selection on each tab.

3. On the Analysis actions tab select what actions may be done on the shared project.

You can control access to the shared project. The Access control options only apply to invited users that have regular Walr Platform accounts, not sub accounts.

4. Choose whether invited users can only view data or if they may work collaboratively on the project.

5. Determine if invited users can give access to other users within their organization.

6. When you are done selecting your access options click Share

  


Invite Users

  

When you click on Share you come back to the main screen of your project where you will see a message asking you to invite users to the project.

1. Click Invite Users.

2. The Add users dialog will open to the Sub accounts tab. Select any sub accounts that you wish to share with. 

  • Sub accounts are managed in the Administrative section of the Walr Platform. 

For a sub account that is selected, a list of users within that account is shown. Select the user(s) you wish to share with from the list and click Close.

 

 

Sharing with regular accounts can be done on the Regular accounts tab.

 

3. Enter the email address of the regular account user you wish to invite to the project and click Add.

4. Click Update once all the invites are completed.

 



Invitee response

 

The person that has been invited will receive an email and can now create their own account to get access. The status of the user becomes active after they complete the registration process. 
 

You can see who the project is shared with on the project page.

 

Remove an invitee by clicking the X next to their email address. You will be asked to verify your action before they are removed.

 


Stop Sharing a Project

  

You can always remove an invited user. The user will no longer have access to the project.

1. Open Sharing and select Remove sharing

2. Click Yes to end sharing the project.
