Accessing Pinboard
The first step is getting all of the charts and tables you need lined up in A&R and saved in an analysis session. If you need help with A&R see Knowledge Base or contact support.
Once you are happy with your tables and charts, you’re ready for Pinboard.
To access Pinboard, in your project folder, click on “Add” and then select “Pinboard.” Give it a name and, if you want to, add a description and tags.
When you’ve set-up Pinboard and opened it, it will display an empty board like this.
Setting-up a new Pinboard
Once in Pinboard, follow these steps to create a new Pinboard:
Step 1: Click on the “+”
Step 2: Select “Analysis object”
Step 3: Select your project, dataset, and session
Step 4: Select the table you need from cross table or the chart you need from Chart by scrolling down.
Step 5: Drag the variable across to the pinboard.
After creating your Pinboard, you have full flexibility to make as many edits as you wish.
Editing a CHART in Pinboard
Step 1: Once it’s dragged across, it will look like this…
Step 2: Hoover over to resize and edit the layout using the bars on the right side and/or bottom. You can also use the blue box (bottom right) to resize.
You can edit the chart across several dimensions to make it look how you want it to.
You can also add a chart title or headline text by clicking on the world icon
Note that if you want to change the data and/or chart type this has to be done in A&R.
In this example the settings have been edited to shorten the chart height, define the space between the bars, and to define how much “padding” or gap there is between the headline and the chart.
Adding/editing a TEXTBOX or IMAGE in Pinboard
In addition to charts, you can also add a text box or image.
Step 1: To do this, click the “+” and drag and image or text box across to your board. You can then edit these elements the same way you would edit a chart.
Adding a new BOARD in Pinboard
To add additional boards to Pinboard, click on the boards icon and give the new board a name:
You can edit the board name and background at any point by clicking on the pencil icon.
You also have the option to add sub-boards to your main board(s), if you want to. This might be useful if you want to show additional data cuts. For example, if your main board was your total sample, you might have sub-boards for age and gender:
